Our Stories
What Are We Doing Today?
DOT provides a range of services for infants, children adolescents and adults, at your preferred location. Here’s what we have been doing recently!
Fine motor skills: playing games
Enjoying a pretend coffee at 3 year old Georgia’s cafe, with a few games of Hungry Hippos. Playing Hungry Hippos is helping to develop Georgia’s wrist extension, hand strength, finger isolation and dexterity in preparation for drawing and writing.
Handwriting skills
Loving my job. Connecting with kids and helping them master things like handwriting makes my day.
Emotional awareness games!
Family game time: Having lots of laughs with Rebecca and her family as we learn about different emotions.
Fine motor skills: cutting and gluing
Assessing fine motor skills like colouring between the lines and cutting out. Ashton was just having fun!
It’s ok to lose
Losing well is a social skill! Mitchell Is learning how to lose a game and still be friends. Energetic practicing with the “Taco, Cat” game was a hoot!
Emotional regulation
Helping Mitchell identify what his emotions feel and look like so that he can learn how to regulate them.
In-home support
Setting up Krista’s chair so that she feels stable and can use her arms and hands freely at the table.
